I’m interested in becoming a consultant, but I’m so busy that I’m not sure I have time for this. How much time does it require?   You’re going to call me crazy but the busier you are, the more successful you are! You are around more people, have more opportunities to use the product and share your excitement for it! You can fit it into your lifestyle! If you do 2 parties a month you are looking at about 5-6 hours a month for a $300 paycheck!

Do consultants have a monthly/quarterly quota to stay active?  To stay active with Thirty-One, consultants only need to submit $200 in sales every rolling three months. A qualifying party for Thirty-One is only $200! Very easy to stay active!

Does the company supply consultants with a website? If so, what is the cost?  The cost is $16.95 a month for your consultant website and marketing emails sent to customers on your behalf from Thirty-One.

How would my customers order?  Your customers can go directly to your website and place an order or they can shop within a party. Each party has a specific shopping link to ensure the hostess gets credit for orders from her friends and family.

Do I have to keep inventory in my home?  Absolutely not. Once you purchase your enrollment kit, you are not required to buy any additional product. In fact, I recommend only spending money on products that you will get a lot of use out of. You do not need the entire catalog!

 What is my initial cost to become a consultant?  It only takes $99 to secure your enrollment kit! It comes with over $300 in products and business supplies that you get to use for yourself and your parties.

What will I get with my kit and when can I expect to receive it?  You will get all the products shown below along with a package of catalogs and other start-up paperwork. You will receive your kit in 3-5 business days.

Are there any other hidden fees?   No, Thirty-One does not charge you any other fees throughout the year.

Is there a penalty or fee if I decide to get out of the business?  No. Just contact home office and let them know of your decision. There is never a penalty for not selling…you have nothing to lose by trying!!!

What incentive programs are offered to new Consultants?  Thirty-One’s AMP (All My Perks) Jumpstart Program is a simple program to reward New Consultants for jumpstarting their Thirty-One business and qualifying quickly.

New Consultants who submit $1,000 by the end of their first full month (that’s sign-up month PLUS one month) will earn a top selling product for FREE! And, the best news: no need to remember to order the product, it will be shipped automatically.

Does the company offer incentives beyond the first month?  Yes! Thirty-One offers all consultants two different ways to earn through the All My Perks Program.  1) AMP 100 – all you need to do is submit $100 in a single calendar month and you get to choose ANY product for 60% off, the following month. 2) AMP 2000 – you’ll get a 10% bonus in your month-end commission check when you submit $2,000 in sales during the calendar month.


How are Consultants paid at Thirty-One?   We are a paperless company! You will need to set up Direct Deposit. If you choose to have a check sent to you there is a $4 charge. Consultants are paid twice monthly. Commission from orders and parties from the 1st -15th of the month is paid on the 25th of the same month and commission from orders and parties from the 16th – end of month is paid on the 10th of the following month.

Are there any support groups or training for Thirty-One consultants?   Yes! Yes! Yes! You will receive a Welcome Guide in your enrollment kit. What can I do to prepare while waiting for my enrollment kit?  Spread the word about your new business. Tell all your family and friends and start booking those parties!!! Your best bet is to have a launch party at your house and set up a Facebook launch to coincide. That way you can enter your first party, you’ll make all the commission, and you’ll earn all the free and half-price items as the hostess-so you can add to your kit for FREE! How do I submit orders?  You submit orders via your personal website in what we call our “Virtual Office”. You will need to have access to a computer. Here you will place party orders, create online orders, and do business supply orders.

How do I collect money from customers?  As a consultant, you can accept cash, checks, or credit cards for the full amount owed including shipping and tax. Consultants are not charged for this service. Thirty One accepts all major credit cards. Please keep in mind the best payment option for online orders is always a credit card.

Can I set up at events, fairs and festivals?  Yes! You can even get catalogs towards the event from home office!

Where is the Home Office located? Our Home Office is located in New Albany, Ohio, which is just outside of Columbus.

Where are products shipped from?  They are shipped from our warehouse in Flower Mound, Texas via UPS.

What outside tools and resources will I need? While none of these are required, they will certainly help make your life as a Consultant a lot easier…

  • Facebook – If you’re not already on Facebook, it’s time. This is where you will hold your online parties, get support from teammates and have your VIP Customer Group.
  • A reliable computer – While it’s completely possible to run your business from a mobile device, a computer will be so much easier. If you don’t have one, consider using your first commission check to get one. I promise you won’t regret it.
  • Dropbox  – Our team files are all kept on Dropbox and you will need to create a free account to view the files.
  • Catalog Labels – You will want these for the back of your catalogs and mini catalogs. You can make your own or order from VistaPrint like I do. Just be sure to include your name, phone number, email address, website and Facebook group URL.
  • Business Cards – You can choose to order business cards through Thirty-One or VistaPrint. Some Consultants use mini catalogs in place of business cards. Totally up to you.

Do I have to have a separate business checking account to become a Thirty-One consultant?  No. Although, by having a separate checking account for your Thirty-One business it may make it easier to track business income and expenses.

How do I report my income on my taxes?  As a consultant, you are considered self-employed. You will be given a Form 1099 from Thirty-One with your earnings. It’s important that you track all of your expenses so you can deduct these when filing your taxes. I would recommend starting a mileage log as well. I keep track of everything in a google spreadsheet. Please consultant a Certified Public Accountant for any tax advice.
